Formula 1 – End of the season excitement

This has been a bit of a sport-focused week here at the London Traveler. Don’t worry, it won’t be like this all the time, but there are simply some exciting events in British sport this week!

This Sunday will be the final race in the Formula 1 2007 series. After an amazing series of performances, Lewis Hamilton, a British 22-year-old in his rookie Formula 1 series, is poised to win the championship!
Lewis has finished on the podium (top 3) in the first nine races of the year, and has won four races thus far. He’s currently leading the points race for the championship, and with a win or second-place finish in Brazil (the last racecourse) will win the championship.
While there have been a number of famous British racing drivers over the years, Lewis Hamilton’s performance thus far indicates he could become one of the best ever. As a 22-year-old rookie, he has shattered expectations and can only grow to further dominate the sport.
Formula 1 can be a bit dull if you’re not a gearhead like myself, but I would at least recommend trying to see the last 10-15 minutes of the race. It could get interesting!
