Theatre Thursday – Monty Python’s Spamalot

I’ve always loved British comedy. I still remember seeing a Monty Python sketch as a young kid, “Hell’s Grannys,” which still cracks me up when I think about it. (Perhaps it’s part of the reason why I originally moved here!)
Monty Python now has a stage production, Spamalot, loosely based on the classic film “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” It originally premiered in Chicago and New York in early 2005, and has been in London since late 2006. When it hit Broadway it was pretty big news, as it attracted a demographic to theatre that rarely attended. (Males, particularly young/adolescent males!)
The reviews of the show have always been good to great, and the cast changes some bits around to laugh at current events or local characters. It’s playing at London’s Palace Theatre, which is in a particularly central part of the West End theatre area. I haven’t made it to a show yet, but really hope to soon. It’s always great to see a show that makes you laugh yourself out of your seat!

This is just the best show ever.
Monty python, song and dance and nearly naked women. What more could you ask for.
The true messiah and I should know I’ve seen a few.
