Take a Duck tour of London

by Jed on October 6th, 2007

Take a water- and land- tour around London in an amphibious Duck (DUKW)! Similar to cities like Boston and Washington DC, you can now see London from a very unique perspective.

(Thanks to Jon at the DC Traveler for inspiring this post!)

Seeing London from the water is a fantastic experience. Not only that, but the Duck tours enter the water right next to MI-6 headquarters, as seen in the James Bond films. (MI-6 is the British Secret Intelligence Service). You will go by Parliament on the land and water, as well as many other very beautiful parts of the city.

Tickets: £18 for adults, £12 for children under 12

Dates and Times: Daily, though booking for weekend and holiday tours should be done a few days in advance. Tours start at 10am and run throughout the day until dusk. They last approximately 75 minutes. (45 on the road and 30 on the river.)

Getting there: Tours leave from right by the London Eye. Nearest stations are Waterloo and Westminster, on the Jubilee, Circle, District, Bakerloo, Northern, and Waterloo and City lines.
